Selective Pallet Rack is the most popular and versatile pallet rack for direct and individual access to each pallet. The selective pallet racking system provides efficient use of space and immediate access to every load stored, making it the best solution for warehouses that need to store palletized products with a wide range of SKUs (stock keeping units).
Advantages:
Advantages:
- Each pallet and SKU can be accessed directly.
- Easy to control stock.
- Adaptable to any volume, weight or size of goods stored.
Options:
- To increase the number of pallets stored, double-deep racks can be utilized, enabling one pallet to be placed in front of another on each side of the aisle.
- Rack-supported warehouses, constructed of selective pallet racking, can be a cost-effective storage solution, as they do not require the existence of a building prior to construction.
Pushback Rack increases storage density from 25%-65% while maintaining the flexibility to store multiple SKUs (stock keeping units).
This type of dynamic system stores and retrieves pallets from the same aisle in a last-in, first-out (LIFO) order, reducing pick times. It is designed for operations that require a large number of full pallet pick faces with two or more pallets per SKU.
All of the pallets at each level, except the first one in, are placed on a set of trolleys that are pushed along rolling rails. These rails are built on a slight incline, lower at the front, so that the pallets at the back move forward when the pallet closest to the aisle is removed.
Advantages
- Provides optimal combination of selectivity and high-storage density.
- Loading and unloading carried out in a central aisle.
- Allows efficient use of space with limited sacrifice in product accessibility.
- Debris-free design makes these racks perfect for food applications.
Cantilever racks are widely used to organize warehouses, manufacturing facilities, lumber yards, carpet manufacturers and a host of businesses that have a need to store long or wide products. Cantilever Rack is ideal for storing longer, bulky items like carpet rolls, furniture, lumber, tubing, tires, textiles, piping, and similar items. Cantilever Racks help get product off the floor and increases the amount of storage capacity for any building. It is available in either single or double-sided configurations and the arms are adjustable for easy reconfiguration.

Drive-in Rack provides static high-density storage for large quantities of like product with low-level turnover. It is ideal for like products with a high number of pallets per article type, generally stored and shipped in large lots. This system offers the highest use of available space in terms of both area and height. Forklifts can drive directly into the rack to allow storage of six or more pallets deep. Drive-in rack can generally accommodate as many article types as there are loading aisles.
Advantages
-
Maximum use of available space, up to 85% over conventional pallet rack.
-
Elimination of aisles between rack.
-
Reduces space costs, holds more loads
-
Entrance and exit of goods are well controlled.
Options
-
Two systems available: Drive-In Rack, which uses a common entry/exit, and Drive-Thru Rack, which has a separate entry and exit.
-
Drive-in rack can also be used in the construction of rack- supported warehouses, which may be a cost-effective storage solution, as they do not require the existence of a building prior to construction.
Pallet Flow Rack is a dynamic storage system, which utilizes first-in/first-out (FIFO) storage and retrieval of pallets by using gravity flow rails to bring the product from the stocking aisle to the picking aisle of the system. The high density possible with this type of a pick system minimizes the distance between items picked, resulting in higher full-pallet order-picking productivity and more fully utilizes valuable warehouse space compared to a static storage system, such as drive-in or selective pallet rack.
This system is ideal for freezer warehouses, perishable goods, food distribution centers, and storage of high-volume consumer goods (grocery, car and pharmaceutical industries, chemicals, etc.).
Advantages
-
Enables optimum pallet turnover (FIFO SYSTEM)
-
Time saved in pallet handling
-
Maximize floor space - high density with fewer aisles
-
Ideal for expiration date sensitive inventory
Carton Flow Rack is an ideal system for less-than-pallet pick operations providing for efficient order-picking.
It is used for low volume case picking and for high-volume split case picking. Cartons are loaded individually at the backside of the rack and flow by gravity rails to the front (FIFO-First In/First Out). This system cuts order picking labor costs up to 75% over static systems. Separate stock and pick aisles, and continuously stocked pick faces, enhance efficiency.
This system is ideal for a wide range of industries, including warehouses storing mass consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, computer goods, spare parts for cars, etc. Carton Flow can be installed as stand-alone units, or as a component of a larger pallet rack, or pick module.
Advantages

Mezzanines are considered freestanding and re-locatable capitol equipment that does not impact your property taxes and depreciates quicker than conventional construction.
There are several advantages to choosing Modular Offices over "stick-built" construction.
-
Relocate, Expand and Reuse - Modular components are 100% re-usable and interchangeable, making moves & changes quickly and easily. With modular construction it is possible to add a second story, tear down one big office and construct two smaller ones or move it all to a new place and never lose the original investment.
-
Stronger Construction - Traditional drywall and stud construction leaves unsupported cavities that can be punctured easily. Modular panels use much stronger materials and utilize fully supported wall substrates using a polystyrene core, giving the walls true impact resistance for long useful life.
-
Better Sound Deadening - The solid core panel construction enables better sound control than conventional walls, to create a comfortable work area even in the loudest manufacturing plants.
-
Faster Occupancy - Modular office installations take days instead of the weeks involved with conventional construction. This saves you money and time by minimizing production downtime and other business interruptions.
-
Pre-Engineered - Each job gets detailed drawings and a complete bill of materials. The product is pre-engineered and can meet any building code. A local engineer or architect will only have to review and seal the drawings. This is much less expensive than starting from scratch with convention construction.
-
Permits are NOT Always Required - Small modular rooms within a plant can usually be assembled without a permit. This is never the case with conventional construction which always requires a permit and can tie up a project for weeks. (Consult your local building department)
-
Easily Permitted - Large or multi-level modular offices and buildings are pre-engineered and designed to meet all current building codes for a simple permitting process.
-
Tax Benefits - Modular office construction qualifies for accelerated depreciation according to recent tax laws, depreciating over 7 years as opposed to 39 years for conventional construction.

In-Plant and Warehouse Offices
-
Offices in a Shell Building

A Carousel Storage System is a specialized piece of equipment designed to automate storage and retrieval of small parts. It brings the product to the picker that results in increased throughput and reduced labor costs and enables a large inventory to be densely stored by eliminating aisles, thus decreasing the floor space used.
These savings can produce a return on investment in less than 2 years. There are two main types of carousels:
-
Horizontal - which is a series of bin shelving sections mounted on a horizontal oval track
-
Vertical - which is a series of pan-type shelves mounted on a vertical oval track inside a metal enclosure
With both systems, when activated, the bins or shelves rotate to bring the requested items to the operator or automated picker.
Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a software program designed to control movement and storage of materials within an operation and process the associated transactions. It directs the product from receiving to directed put-away, to directed picking and directed replenishment through packing to shipment. The basic logic will use a combination of item, location, quantity, unit of measure, and order information to determine where to stock, where to pick, and in what sequence to perform these operations. The initial setup is quite detailed and varies among software vendors, and thus is not interchangeable. The implementation can be complex and involved.
The advantages of implementing a WMS along with automated data collection will likely include increases in accuracy, reduction in labor and a greater ability to service the customer by reducing cycle times. Note though, when implementing a WMS, it adds an additional layer of technology onto the operation and with each layer of technology there is additional overhead and additional sources of potential problems.
We will be happy to work with you on a cost justification to see if WMS is right for your application.
Pick-to-Light Systems
The Pick-to-Light System is a paperless, light directed picking solution designed to electronically assist personnel in pulling (pick) or placing (put) SKU's to meet order requirements. It improves accuracy by removing the worker's need to think or read paperwork at the pick or put level by using a scanner or other input to identify an order, and lights and numbers to identify product and pick/put quantity. Warehouse Solutions Inc. can assist you in designing a pick-to-light system that increases material handling cost efficiency, by reducing the time, space, and labor required for order fulfillment and increase order-picking productivity and accuracy in your warehousing or distribution center. By replacing paper-based picking with pick-to-light technology, you can double pick productivity in carousel picking, flow/shelf rack picking, mobile cart picking and assembly/kitting workstations.
