More Pallet Racking Deals
Posted on October 30th, 2009 1 commentWith the ever changing bad economy more and more businesses are falling to the wayside. This is unfortunate, after all this wasn’t the kind of change we were hoping for. With every loss there is an opportunity for someone or another company to benefit.
The benefits here of course is that there is a large inventory of both new and uses pallet racking, industrial shelving and other material handling equipment at huge discounted pricing. This is good for the companies who need this product but not so good for the companies selling it. The more product a company sits on the more money they loose. This is because the value of those products diminishes as pallet racking prices drop as the market gets flooded.
I don’t mean to be doom and gloom here. There is a silver lining and that is the quality of used pallet racking gets better and better. When we go to look at a company downsizing we have the benefit of being choosy because of the volume of products hitting the market.
Don’t settle for just mediocre products when you can get premium products at bargain prices.

Cut your energy costs with warehouse lighting
Posted on October 1st, 2009 No commentsIn this ever-challenging economy - every penny lost in your warehouse has the potential of sinking your company. There are many ways to save a penny here or a penny there. one of the ways is to be more efficient with your electricity.
Energy costs have gone up over the years and with the threat of the United States signing a treaty that will surely bankrupt this country the costs are going to keep going up. Have you looked around your warehouse in a way that could save you pennies? Look under your mezzanines, catwalks, pallet racking, or even in the corners of the building where few people ever visit.
Many companies have installed light sensors to turn lights on only when someone approaches that dark area. This way the light is only being used when someone is actually using it. Many newer warehouses these days are placing sensors that turn the light on in the bathrooms when the door opens.
Warehouse Solutions, Inc. has many of these sensors available for your lighting needs. the cost of these used sensors will pay for themselves very quickly in the savings on your electric bill. Call us today to see about utilizing these sensors in your warehouse.

Deterioration of Concrete
Posted on June 24th, 2009 No commentsI just ran across an article on the deterioration of concrete. It got me thinking about many of the jobs we do here at Warehouse Solutions, Inc. Just about every job we do has something to do with concrete. All the pallet racking, industrial shelving, mezzanines, forklifts, pallet jacks and the list goes on - comes in contact with cement and adds stress to it.
When we go into a new warehouse or facility the cement is pristine and solid. This makes our job easier when it comes to anchoring in the pallet racking. It’s the older buildings that have cracks and chunks missing on the concrete floor that poses a bigger challenge. When you’re only anchoring in a few bays it’s not much of a challenge, but when its isles and isles of it, well that’s more challenging. This is because for inspection purposes you can’t anchor on or right next to a crack in the cement.
Here’s the article on Cement if you’d like to read and see some technical data and images: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/06/090615171507.htm
